What We’ve Been Up to!

Hi Friends,

The Pom has been busy, busy! With winter over and spring pushing forward, we have been doing many fun projects and activities here. The weather has been so nice lately and the kids have been able to enjoy a little outdoor time on our patio behind the Pom!

We’ve had a few birthdays to celebrate, some great new staff members and a whole lot of fun a long the way! Here are some photos of my favorite projects we’ve done over the last three months.

Hi friends,

Welcome back to the pom blog!

The past two weeks have been super busy with changes being made at the pom! We are now extending our hours on tuesdays and thursdays! We will be open 9am-7pm on those days with a new addition to the pom; a baby safe zone! From 4-7pm parents can drop their child(ren) of any ages at the pom. The same rules apply for kids that aren’t potty trained: parents must remain in the building.

We are also offering an unlimited pom pass as part of a promotional 3 month trial period. Unlimited pom and babysitting pass to be used up to 1.5 hours per day. This offer is valid for JCC members only. Arent a member?  Members receive discounted prices on classes, a gym membership that includes any fitness classes, spa access and many other awesome amenities.

Call to make an appointment for a tour today! 203-387-2522 x227 or “0″ for the front desk at the JCC.

The past two weeks at the Pom we have had “Senses” themed activites and “I spy” themed activites. The kids enjoyed exploring all five senses in activities like feeling different shapes and objects in dishes, seeing colors mix to make new ones and other fun sense “tests”.

“I spy” week was filled with visual exploration. Games requiring each child to spot an object and describe it to the others. We made our own “i spy” boards out of magazine clippings too!

This week we are having “nursery rhyme” week! Songs, games and crafts based after classic nursery rhymes.

Hi!

We had a GRRRReat week learning about animals at the Pom! From a moose eating a muffin to fish swimming through the water and many animals in between. We also went on an animal scavenger hunt. Each child had to complete a small concourse in the pom that consisted of a lake ( our blue mat), a mountain ( our red teeter toy), a rope bridge ( our pillows spaced apart in a line) and a river ( our gymnastics mat). At the end, each child chose a treasure from our found treasure chest! We pretended to be a different animal at each place ( i.e monkey at the rope bridge).

Here are some photos from the past week. These were my favorites:

Happy New Year!

This year we are excited about some new things at the Pom! We will be rearranging the room in the near future for a fresh look! We are continuing our themes each week and our art projects, storytime and circle time.

Last week was “Around the House” week. We learned about the different rooms in a house and what we do in each room (i.e kitchen:cook!) The kids enjoyed decorating cute door hangers and other room related activities!

The past two weeks has been all about SNOW at the Pom. With the official start to winter being last week and the lack of actual snow we’ve had, we wanted to celebrate that wonderful white, cold, fluffy stuff!

From “snow white” mirrors to paper mittens, the kids have been creating some awesome projects! Here at the Pom we hope you have been enjoying your holidays, eating a lot of yummy food and spending time with the ones you love!

Here are some of my favorites from the past couple of weeks:

Happy December!

Winter is fast approaching. Although it may feel a lot like winter, the first official day is over a week away. Last week we had “Safari” week at the Pom. The kids made their own binoculars to spot the different animals in the room! They also made animal masks, went on a safari scavenger hunt and we read about Lions and tigers!

Now that the cold months are upon us we expect to be busier at the Pom. Feel free to book your mom’s group or play date here! We are open 8:45-330 Monday thru Friday. You can contact the pom directly @ 203-387-2522 extension 389 or lauraf@jccnh.org

Hi Friends!

Hope you had a great thanksgiving and some nice time to relax. Last week at the Pom was “Give Thanks” week. We did activities based around the Thanksgiving holiday. The kids took part in painting their own “giving tree” like the one on our display board. They also made turkeys from old toilet paper rolls, pilgrim hats and other festive pictures.

Here is a look at some of the things we did last week. Thursday the Pom was closed.
